I've gone Mac!

Following in the steps of Jason, Rob, Eric and Scott, I have gone to the "other side". Yesterday I became the proud owner of a shiny new MacBook Pro! I opted for the 15.4" 2.4GHz model with 2GB or RAM but have already swapped out the RAM for 4GB and upgraded the hard disk to a 200GB 7,200rpm model (the 5,400rpm model that came with it just wouldn't cut it for me).

So far the impressions are good. It works well and was very impressed that when I connected my cell phone via Bluetooth it asked if I wanted to connect to the Internet. A couple of settings later and I was online at 3.5G speeds. Easy!

As for Windows, I first installed Vista x64 via BootCamp to see if it would work (Apple say BootCamp only supports x86) but the lack of Bluetooth support and a couple of other missing drivers forced me to go back to Vista x86. It's annoying seeing as I have 4GB or RAM I can't get full use of but hopefully support will be added in the not too distant future.

I have some more setting up to do like installing Visual Studio and other app's in Vista as well as playing with VMWare Fusion.

I am still waiting for mine to ship, so I am not in the club yet.

Check out Amazon for Fusion. It was $41 after rebate last week.

Welcome to the party. I've been using a Mac in one form or another for the past 4 years and really haven't looked at Windows the same since.

And stop rubbing in the fact that you get 3.5G speeds...no fair. :(

I was actually telling the guy in the Apple store about you. 'Some guy demo'd the EDGE speeds by loading eBay at dinner.....'. was pretty much the gist of it. :)

Things will be much sweeter when I'm used to OS X and I'm not too keen on this keyboard either. I seem to keep missing letters as I type. I need to hit the keys harder.

Hey Rich, way to go! FYI Shane and I took the jump long before Rob, Eric, and Scott did. :)

We're taking over...

I don't get it.

What possible advantage does the mac offer someone working with VS/ASP.Net that offsets the exorbitant cost? The one-button trackpad alone is going to cost you productivity...

"We're taking over..."

Right.

Compare with other video converters, Total Video Converter does support a wealth of audio and video formats, including 3GP, PSP, AVI, MOV, and SWF. On top of that, Total Video Converter can rip DVDs and cut movies into smaller, more manageable fragments. In our testing, we appreciated the program's conversion speed and quality. Total Video Converter is well-suited for batch conversion.

Why do we remove DRM from protection? When you download music and video from Windows Media Player, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, bearshare, Spiral Frog, BBC iPlayer. These popular WMA music and WMV movie download programs always come with DRM, therefore, you cannot enjoy these files in your favorite digital devices.

I think we must appreciate those who do something especial. Keep it up, thanks
