Twitter: Dead already? Wednesday, November 14 2007
If you haven't heard of Twitter (where have you been?) it a kind of Micro-blogging that makes it quick and simple to update the world (or at least those who care) about what you're up to. In only 140 characters, you can quickly post what you're doing, where you are and where you're going. The appeal for me and indeed many people that I work with, is that working at home, and in a different country, it enables me to easily keep up with the goings on of friends and colleagues.
I am starting to notice a lot fewer updates from my friends, and some people seem to have stopped altogether. So what went wrong? It always interests me to know what the magic ingredient is that makes something so popular (MySpace, Facebook) or why something disappeared almost as quick as it arrived. Twitter had lots of problems early on that probably soured some peoples experience, but those seem to have been mostly fixed now, but was it too little too late?
I'll keep using it for now, but maybe soon I'll be twittering on my own in an empty room....about 50 years before I thought I'd be.

I think the problem with Twitter is that it has a lot of technical problems: sometimes doesn't update, sometimes show messages from people you don't know...
